Raleigh-Durham International Airport The Raleigh-Durham International Airport uses B20 in most diesel equipment and vehicles including shuttle buses and fire trucks.
"We have been using biodiesel B20 for about 6 years with no major engine problems," said Charles R. Barnes, Fleet Maintenance Superintendent RDU Airport Authority. "Our parking lot shuttle buses operate 365 days a year and 3 or 4 buses of those buses run 24 hours a day as needed. We average about 80,000 miles per year per bus.
"The mechanics like it because it is so much cleaner. The engine and rear of the bus is much cleaner than with regular diesel. And the mechanics and customers really like the lack of diesel smell and black smoke.
